Amazing Herbs: Sage

To me, sage is something that takes me straight to Thanksgiving. Sage is a common ingredient in stuffing (or dressing, as some call it) that graces each table every holiday season. It is warm, earthy and adds a rich tone to whatever you add it to. However, sage is so much more than part of a turkey side dish.

Historically, sage is an herb that has rich medicinal uses in many cultures, especially older ones like Native Americans, Romans, Chinese & Egyptians. It has uses that stem from antibiotic to astringent to anti antiperspirant, and it has strong estrogenic properties that can help regulate menopause symptoms and can help stop lactation for post-partum mothers.

In addition to all of this, sage also tastes amazing. Similar to basil, it is part of the mint family, and there are multiple varieties of it. Not sure what you want to make? Not sure where to start? Look below to get some inspiration!
